"Mr. and Mrs. Smith" Reach for the Star

DaimlerChrysler   09 Jun 2005 16:03 GMTPage rating:

Which car would you drive if you had several jobs with entirely different transportation needs? The multi-talented assassin ‘Mrs. Smith’, played by Angelina Jolie in the new movie “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” chose the C-Class station wagon from Mercedes Benz.

Jolie and Brad Pitt star in the title roles in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” as a bored married couple who lead a perfectly ordinary life in an upscale suburban neighbourhood. In reality, however, each of them has a secret life unknown to the other: both work as highly-trained assassins for competing agencies. One day each is issued a contract to kill the other, and from that point on things start to get really exciting…

The cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and Twentieth Century Fox has proven to be a most satisfying union for both parties. “Numerous successful feature films have demonstrated that Mercedes-Benz vehicles are an ideal addition to a movie's cast,” says Dr. Ferdinand Froning, responsible for Product Placement at DaimlerChrysler. “In ”Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” the C-Class will shine. The station wagon perfectly represents the ‘Mrs. Smith’ character: Both are cultivated and powerfully dynamic. Moreover, the design and elegance of the vehicle ideally correspond to Mrs. Smith’s confident nature.”

“Mr. and Mrs. Smith” opens in the U.S. on June 10.
