The all-new Odyssey, completely re-engineered for 2005, has also been recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency as the minivan segment leader for fuel economy - achieving 20/28 mpg city/highway. Additionally, the Odyssey has earned a "Best Pick" from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), earning a "Good" designation in all tested categories.
Since the Odyssey was originally introduced in 1995, the minivan has been well received by consumers. The vehicle's popularity has been reflected in its sales, posting a year over year increase for the last six consecutive years. As of June 2005, the Odyssey has sold a total of 87,845 units, a 16.3 percent increase over the same period last year. Class leading levels of performance, safety and interior comfort along with a long list of innovative features have helped elevate the Odyssey as the benchmark in the minivan segment.
