Hi Everyone,

I am considering getting a diesel version with 5-sp manual transmission.
The ones I have seen are up to 200+ Kmiles. Are those cars at the end of
their life? Anything good or bad about those cars?

Could be a great buy, or a PITA. Each isi different at that age and
usage. 200K miles is not the end of the life if the vehicle was well
maintained and not used in a salty environment.

Check for rust, everywhere. If the bolt heads are rusted so much that
they don't look right, or a wrench won't fit well, give it a pass. Any
holes are a signal that the end is near.

Diesels can hit 400-600k w/ good maintenance. All depends on previous owner.

Toyota Part are generally expensive. I am not sure what type of cruiser you
are looking at but if it is a pickup, then you can usually be sure that it
will have been worked pretty hard. At least that is the rule in South Africa
where the cruiser costs about twice as much as anything else so needs to
earn its keep.
