Hello

I have been searching for ages trying to find ways of adding crawling
ratios and a very high overdrive to a 4 x 4 project.
My latest idea is to use two toyota transfer cases, I know it's already
been done to increase the crawling ratio - but I have now found out
that overdrive gears are made for certain cases - .92 to 1 - if I
double up on the gears putting the .92 into each box I would end up
with a very high overdrive. Is this likely to work

Thanks

Clue enough to drive around the Sahara and other places around the world -
where you would not be caught dead in a Jeep. You either have some Toyota or
Range Rover (and no, not the stuff you buy in the U.S.). Also - when I was
in the Marines, during the first Gulf War, the Japanese gave us about 500
Toyota Land Cruisers. White ones. These things did better than H-1s in the
desert -- and they were the commercial versions - with all options. I do not
remember a single one breaking down or getting stuck. Americans can't build
a good off road vehicle without some third party mods. I wish it was
different, but that's the truth.

You can put a lower reduction in your transfercase, if its gear driven

Otherwise www.marlincrawler.com has everything you need
