rear end noise

Hi,  I have a 2002 Chev K1500 Silverado,  5.3 V8, 4wd. auto.  When
shifting out at normal pace, there is a clunking noise in the rear end
at each shift.  Would appreciate any help, thank you bk.

Check U-joints, driveshaft, and differential play. Could be any of
these.

I agree, check ujoints as the driveshaft can radiate a lot of noise
when joints are loose.
