Engine light is on

If the engine light is on, where can you go for a free check? Pepboy?
The local Jeep dealer want a charge of $93 for a diagnotic check.

Avanced auto does it and for what it is worth, you can buy a code
reader for under 100  bucks too.

it is a dummy light just put some black tape over it and call it good

This is the best way to get it off: "Park the Jeep out of the way, and
turn off the key". Do that and the light goes off. Then buy a trailer
to get to the good off-road sites...

OK, so you don't want to do that...

It might be worth just investing in a (real) scan tool. They are not
much more than that $93 the dealer wants, and you'll have it for
future problems. That would be my choice.
