1996 blazer 4by4

hello i would just like to get some opinion on buying a suv.i need a good
suv to go off road if needed.i m thinking of buying a 1996 blazer v6 4.3  
4by4 for 4500$ with 120k miles.
is this a good suv?
and what r the common problems and so on....
any help would be mostly appreciated.
my budget is limited too!

hi there i currently own a 96 blazer 4x4 i bought it two years ago for
6000.00 and i love it it has been an exellent truck i use it for
everything i have had minimal problems with it and the repairs that it has
needed have been simple fixes one thing to watch for is try to find one
that is not electronic 4x4 the manual shift is much more reliable

I agree that you want to avoid push button 4x4 as it can be very
troublesome a times. Also 4.3 Vortec engine are known for leaking
intake manifold gasket problems. There have been a lot of them fail
and GM did redesign the gasket a few years ago because of this. The
leak coolant to outside or cranlcase when they fail. TBI 4.3's did not
have this problem and while some did tend to leak, it was a mild oil
leak on back of engine, not a coolant leak. If left stock (no lifts or
oversized tires) those old S10 blazers are fairly sturdy.

yes hello to update you i actually bought a 1990 nissan pathfinder because
the ratings were awesome .
blazer have a good motor but that s about it .
i bought it for 2000$ with a new set of 31 tires,so i jump on it !!minor
problems but compensated by the price
