steering wheel

i have a 1989 chevy s 10 blazer and the steering wheel is loose. its not
the column its the steering wheel and mount any idea on how to fix this
problem. (other than get a new car)

Tilt wheel?  If so, it may well be the 3 bolts that hold the tilt portion
onto the fixed section of the column.  For any style, a broken bearing on
the shaft will also give the feeling of the wheel being lose.  Either way,
the only way to be sure and/or fix it is to disassemble the top end of the
column.
