To be asking this question at all, you must be talking about the
"little" or "down sized" Blazer vs. the full size K5.

I had an '82 GMC Jimmy 4x4 a few years back, this is the same vehicle as
the Blazer.  I changed the oil pan gasket at the same time that I
replaced the clutch.  I did not remove the engine, but I did lift it
using my engine hoist.  The shop manual says you have to disconnect the
front diff housing and pull it forward.  That sounded like too much
trouble to me.  Since I have an engine hoist, I just lifted the engine
until I had clearance.  I suppose the way I did it isn't much different
than pulling the engine.  (The manual says you have to pull the engine
if you have a 2x4.)  You might consider renting an engine hoist.  Before
I bought one, I paid something like $25/day to rent one.

Btw, to change the clutch, the shop manual said to "raise the body 2
inches", yeah right.   My body mounts were too rusted to do that.  So I
use an air chisel and a crowbar to make indentations in the upper
portion of the transmission tunnel to gain clearance so I could access
the upper tranny bolts.   -PapaRick
