had a run-in with a nissan 350z. i was behind at the light, he took off, i
kept behind, then he hit traffic, i passed, then he tried to keep with me.

the z has 17 more hp and 36 more ft-lbs.

i think he would have passed me....  i hit 120mph, he turned off....

Z also weighs several hundred pounds less and has a lower wind
resistance, so if the nut behind his wheel was tight enough, he should
have had an advantage as the speeds got up there.

Street racing results are pretty meaningless since the driver who is
willing to take more chances is the one who usually wins.

anyways....

I was once a passenger in a BMW 320I cruising down the highway at sustained
speeds of 110.  Lots of other faster sports cars would speed up and keep
up with us for while, but they all eventually chickened out and slowed
back down to lesser speeds.  It doesn't mean the 320I was superior to
the other cars.  Just that the driver was willing to keep his foot on
the gas for longer than the other guys.

i won a feelin' that i would have been beaten if there was another 1/4 mile
of open road left.
