Is it actually a recall this time? There is already a warranty extension on
the 00-03s.

Can you provide a link to the referent recall notice?
Thanks,

Anything official yet, like recall number etc?

If you go to Acura.com and go to owners link; you have to be registered; it
will tell you if your vehicle has been affected..I have a 2003 TL and it
says there has been a recall and if my vehicle has been affected I will
receive notice in the mail by the end of July..That really sucks...This is
my very first brand new car and I really researched for a long time before
choosing my Acura..It really doesn't give you much confidence in buying a
luxury car if you spend alot of money on a vehicle and still have
problems!!!!

Recalls are not uncommon. It doesn't necessaraly mean that there is a
problem w/ your car. It just means that there is a potential for a problem
& they are being proactive in correcting it before it actually is a problem.
I have bought quite a few new cars & just had a recall on my '03 Odyssey.
They fixed the problem when I broght it in for something else. It was no
inconvenience to me at all.
So I wouldn't be that worried about this recall. Honda & Acura cars are
still some of the most reliable brands out there.

I didn't say that the recall didn't mean abything. What I was trying to say
was that it is not the end of the world that a new car has a recall. All
you have to do is take it to the dealer & they will fix it. It's no big
deal.

If you had researched a bit harder (Google groups and such), you would
have known about the Acura tranny problems.
I bought my 2001 TL regardless.

Well I drove 30K in my 2001 CL and last Friday the check engine light came
on. The dealer took one look at the codes and put in a new transmission.
It seems to be OK, but I have only driven it for two days.

I checked my owner's link at Acura.com. Nothing listed as a recall for the 04 TL.

Just because yours wasn't recalled doesn't mean no '04's were recalled. Some
'04s ARE covered by the transmission recall.

Anyone know if you buy one used if you can still bring it in to get fixed
free?

Yes, they will fix it free even if you bought it used. If you register at
acura.com, they will even notify you.

OwnerLink won't accept my VIN. I wonder if it's because I'm in Canada.

Although my 04 TL has yet to be identified as effected my friends earlier
Vin # one is. REcalls in general don't upset me but I must say that I am
disappointed seeing this one. The fact that they could do a redesign and
large marketing campain for the new 04 TL and yet STILL have any tranny
problems speak poorly of Honda and Acura in my opinion. You wuold think that
after several years of significant tranny recalls that they would have made
the 04 ones from gold if necessary to prevent any tranny problems.
