I have a 98 Integra GSR and I'm coming up on 60k miles. Is the 60k mile
checkup really necessary??

If you have been keeping up with the scheduled maintenance, no - its not
necessary. Don't ignore the timing belt when its time comes though.

I am not sure what you mean by checkup, but you should have the
scheduled maintenance done, and if you have not been doing so, let
your dealer know. From what I understand, the 30,000 mile mars are
pretty significant. The 90,000 is really big, and you will need to
have a fair amount of service at that point to keep it in good shape.
I had an '89 (now have a '97) that I had about $1000 worth done at 90k
and it ran to 160k without major service after that. Be sure to change
that oil.
