Didn't I read that the new TL can have a manual transmission?  Does anyone
know how rare they are?  Could you get a manual shift in the first two
versions of the TL?

I'm going to be looking for another TL soon, I currently have a 98, and give
the problems that there seems to be with the transmissions, I think I want a
stick shift.  I'm going to be looking for a good used one, so I wonder how
hard it will be find one with a manual shift.

It's not that rare in Los Angeles.  However, depending where you live and
the demand, you may have to order yours special.  But they are available.
Yes they had manual trannies with navi in the second version, don't know
about the first.

They new gen of TL auto trannies (late '04/05) are flawless, by the way. . .
.

AT's are not flawless. there was a recall for many VIN's. there was a
lubrication problem on one of the gears.... easy fix if you did not already
scorch the gear...
