Hi,

Has anyone experienced a ticking sound on the 04 US TL from the engine.  I
seem to hear it only when the engine is cold(mornings) and goes away with
about 10 mins of driving.  In the last couple of weeks it seem to be louder.

Any comments are appreciated

Thanks
Jai

Probably the injectors.

I've never heard of this with a NEW car, but I've experienced this with an
older car where the valve train is "dry" at start up and will make a ticking
sound until it gets oil up from the pan. If it's getting louder or lasting
longer, you may need to have your valves adjusted. If it IS the injectors,
try using a good quality injector cleaner in about half a tank to hopefully
clear any "gunk" that could be causing the noise.
Good Luck.
