99 Acura 3.2 TL with 86000 miles...
My car was fine a few days ago. Now, when I start it the idle goes up and
down like crazy. Any ideas what it could be? The idle control valve was
replaced just last year!

The troubleshooting chart in the FSM says:
Symptom: Idle speed fluctuates
Diagnostic procedure:
1. check/adjust the idle speed
2. inspect/adjust the throttle cable
3. inspect and test the throttle body
Also check for:
Intake air leaks.
If you want to try to do any of this yourself, post a good email addr & I'll
send you the "how-to" pages from the FSM (Helm book).

Cirene,
Is the rad full to the top, and the reservoir full to the line, per the
manual?

I got this a few years ago on my bmw 325I. It was due to the lambda sensor.
It mesures the level of o2 i think.

FWIW, I had this problem on another car (not my Acura). It was diagnosed as
a faulty oxygen sensor causing fluctuations in the richness of the fuel mix.
