Hi Folks,
My parents purchased a white 04 TL early this year. About a month or
so ago the front and rear bumpers (the plastic parts) turned a shade
darker than the rest of the car. I told them to bring it to the
dealer and complain since it wasn't two tone when they bought it.
They tell me their service rep told them they have received a few
other complaints but aren't doing anything until Acura gives them the
word on what to do, if anything.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks,
NDA

Ours white TL is only three months old, but I'll keep an eye on the
color now that you mentioned that. Nothing noticeable so far..

This is a known issue for pretty much every car made today. If you go to
the dealer and look at the TLs, RLs, and RSXs, etc. you will see this with
the lighter colored cars, Silver, White, etc. The reason is is that the
bumber is of a different material than the body parts, and the paint used
to cover the bumper includes a flex agent which causes the color to be a
little darker on the bumper. You can see this on Infinitis, Toyotas,
Lexus, etc. If you get a 50K+ car you might not see this as much, but
there is nothing you can do about it. I purhased an '05 TL that is Black,
just because of this issue. All my three cars are black BTW as I think the
color matching is best on dark colors. Sorry!
