My Integra's clutch releases very "high" and has no free play:  Which
direction to I turn the adjustment nut to "lower" the release point
and add some free play?

Thanks,
Mark

Wind the nut UP on the threads.

Grasp the cable with your left hand and pull it up off the rubber pin. Spin
the nut COUNTER-clockwise with your thumb until there's about 5/32" of
slack.

If you can't pull the nut off the pin enough to spin it no matter how hard
you pull, you've got a small problem. Here's the fix:

1) Cut a 4" length off a broomstick or something like that
2) Have a helper floor the clutch pedal while you wedge the dowel between
the end of the clutch release arm and the frame
3) Have your helper release the pedal
4) At this point you should be able to spin the nut up easily. Guess at how
much you need to spin it for now
5) Push the pedal again and remove the dowel. Release pedal again. See if
you can now lift the nut off the pin
6) If not, repeat 2 to 4 until you can pull the nut up by hand.
7) Adjust to 5/32" freeplay. That will translate to about 1" at the pedal.

Good luck.

I won't need luck, you've given me excellent instructions!

Thanks!

I was told by the Acura dealer  that my 1991 Integra doesn't have a
clutch adjustment.
Mine has to much play.
Are we talking about the same car?

G2 1990-1993 Integra's have a cable actuated clutch which is adjusted
at the throwout lever end of the cable.  ...Passenger side of the
engine for a left hand drive car.

Follow TeGGer's instructions to me, but turn the nut clockwise
instead.
