I've heard mention of "2nd generation" Integras on an Integra website, and
then they had a picture of the original Integra, which I thought was the
First generation.
Can anyone enlighten me on this?

IMO,94-01 are the "2nd generation" Integras.

...G3.

G1:  1986-1989, The Original.

G2:  1990-1994, a profoundly different car, greatly improved, a little
bit softer.

G3:  Major styling shift and lesser detail improvements.

RSX (G4):  2002-, another profoundly different car.

IMO,the body style did not change, thus still the same car.
Got any pix?

Not the same name, not even close to the Integra.

Try Google.

Look what I found:

It's accurate.

Oh yeah. VERY different. I own one of those.

That's my 1991 around 1997. The headlights look a bit grey because at the
time they still had the plastic covers that the dealer offered as an option
($100 the set, sorry don't know the part number). Those covers used to
collect dirt behind them, impairing brightness, and mine eventually got
broken by some kids playing tag around the car.

1986-1989: 1st generation
1990-1993: 2nd generation
1994-1997: 3rd generation
1998 and up I'm not sure where the break points are.

I have a 1991 DA9. I remember I never liked the first generation (DA3)
because of the popup headlights and boxy styling. When the 2nd gen came out
in late 1989, it got me thinking that that's one purty lookin' car, gotta
get me one...so I did.

Was 97 where they changed the front fascia and rear bumper cover?

IMO,there wasn't enough change for another "generation" between the
94,95,and 96-01 styles.

OK,this explains more clearly, especially the part about the headlights.

Thanks, and apologies for the other post I made.

The only thing I disliked about the 2nd gen car was the auto seatbelt
mechanism.Once they got rid of that in the 94 Integra, that's when I bought
one,as I would have stayed with the Preludes, but they uglified the next-to-
last 'Lude.

That was for the US only. My Canadian-market car has normal belts and no
airbags. No other country in the world got those automatic belts except the
US. For that you can thank the Passive Restraint Act of 1988.

That's when they redesigned the interior structure to have airbags.
