Navi software bug

I have just received the latest DVD version (2.11c) of the Navi software for
my '00' 3.2TL.

My [Shutdown] feature no longer functions the same as it used to. E.g., when
I am in the vehicle with the ignition switch to the acc. position (just to
listen to the radio) I can select [Shutdown], but after about 10 minutes I
get the screen message "Shutting down to conserve battery life." This never
used to happen. What used to happen was that it *did* shutdown (immediately)
when I told it to.

It is deceptive, as it acts like it shuts down...but in reality it
doesn't... This has got to be a bug becuase I can see no logical reason to
still offer & display a [Shutdown] option and not shutdown.

Anyone else?

I think your previous DVD must have had a few loose bits.  My '00 TL always
did the "shutting down to conserve Battery life" from day one.  I do see any
different behavior with the new DVD.  I do agree with you that the shutdown
button is deceptive (and always has been) because it does not shutdown the
system, it just kills the screen.  "Screen off" might be a better name for
the button.

The "shutting down to conserve battery life" has popped up before on my
previous versions of the software. But only when I forgot to use the
[Shutdown] button. I have sat in my vehicle MANY times under the old
software, and ALWAYS after using the [Shutdown], it did shutdown...and I
never saw the "shutting down to conserve battery" message
afterwards......But I DO NOW under the new software!

"Loose bits???" perhaps, but I know what I saw...and I don't drink or do
drugs! :o)

Thanks for your feed back! Anyone else?

I went to order mine yesterday and there is a note on the page that says
v2.20 is coming in January. I'm going to wait for that one!

My TL is a 2000 as well, and this has always been the case for mine. The
'shutting down to conserve battery life' actually happened while I was
sitting in the car with the salesman and he told me that's the way it works.

What version was written on your old disc? Was it pre v1.13?

It was the original DVD that came with my TL when I bought it new in 2000.
The old disc is history (trashed), so I can't tell you what the version
was...
