Howdy.  What wud cause my RED hatchback warning light to remain on?
The hatch is closed.  What/where should I check.

Big thanks.

The "Trunk Open" light AND the trunk illumination light both ground through
a switch in the trunk/hatch latch. Unplug the connector from the latch and
see if the light goes off.

If it doesn't go off, you're grounding the green/black wire somewhere
before the switch.

If it *does* go off, the switch in the latch is stuck or damaged.
