I've just purchased a 96 Integra with 81K miles on it. It having had a
couple of owners, I was contemplating doing the 90K service on the
early side (according to this model's owner's model, that's the one
with the timing belt change, so I assume it's pricey).
What does the major service usually cost, and who does it best? Dealer?
(if so, which we have several to choose from) some large free agency
(e.g. "Made in Japan") some semi-secret small shop hidden in the bowels
of Campbell? Other??
My thanks in advance.

I just got the 90K service on my 96 LS. The (Pleasanton)dealer wanted $1,249
including new timing belt and, water pump. I personally changed the
oil+filter, brakes, spark plugs, and air filter and the transmission fluid
was changed recently with the clutch. I got an independent shop in
Livermore(Import Auto tech) to do the rest for $670(In half the time too!)
today. The timing belt alone is around $600 at the dealer and cost me $475
at the independent shop.
Call around for quotes and make sure they do everything the dealer does.
