I need some help concerning a 2001 MDX. I have never had any problems with my vehicle; however, I started it today and the engine is idoling higher than normal. Then after about 30 seconds of the high idol. The engine will gun up and down without me touching the accelorator. The RPMs go from about 1200 rpm to almost 2500 rpm in an oscillating. Does anyone have any insight as to what the problem may be? And how serious the problem is? >I need some help concerning a 2001 MDX. And how serious the > problem is? It is more than likely a failing idle control valve. However you could try to take it off and clean it but this may not work. Replacement recommended.
