Is that 190K miles or 190 kilometers. I think it's the first and shows
the owner is doing right by the car. Originally calls for timimg belt
change at 90,000 mi. I have a '91 Integra gs with 145K miles. Good

I've owned one since new in '91.

Integras were hot sellers for Honda in 1991, and there are still loads of
2nd gens ('90-'93) still around.

Integras are the same as Civics for reliability. Same basic car.

As far as condition and whether it's worth the price or not, the car IS 15
years old and has high mileage. At this point in the car's life, it's very
much an individual, and aggregate brand reliability has little or nothing
to do with how this particular vehicle will fare in your hands. You need
experienced on-the-scene help and advice.

A few generalities:
* The engine is unlikely to last much more than 300K miles without
excessive oil consumption, unless the owners have been VERY religious about
oil changes every 2.5-3K miles (~$2,500 for a replacement engine).
* If the head gasket has not been replaced yet, it will go soon (~$400).
* The transmission bearings will be noisy in your car and will eventually
require replacement (~$650 to replace the tranny). Have a competent
mechanic listen to the tranny when it's warm.
* Other than that, you've potentially got all the other normal problems
that can beset an old car.

So long as you look at the car as a rolling project that's expected to need
lots of care, you won't be disappointed in it. If you're looking for
something that will just work, and keep working, for years with minimal
attention, then this is the wrong car for you.
