The sun is not very warm in Seattle. especially in Spring. Each time
there is a sunny day the AC thinks I am very hot and starts to blow
cold air at me, which is not very pleasant. I hav to raise the
temperature a few degrees to compensate for that.

Hmmm. Thanks for the explanation. I live near Rochester, NY which
has a LOT of cloudy days too, but I don't find this an issue. Sorry

Sounds like you've found the solution - you have to do a tricky little
turn of this special knob on the dashboard, but just the right amount...
