Any recalls or service bulletins for TSX window controls?

2007 TSX. This one is my Dad's, about six months ago his rear passenger
window crapped out. It started with his losing function from the driver's
controls and soon the actual controls on the rear passenger door failed.
The tech traced it to a colored wire (the color escapes me right now) but
the service manager didn't want to fix it under warranty since there was an
after-market remote starter installed. The tech agreed it wasn't related to
the starter and the starter installer went in and also stated there was no
way his installation could have resulted in frying the wire. The service
manager was willing to cover the fix IF my father allowed them to remove the
rear seat and many interior components to trace the wire back to where it
failed. There were two catches, the first was that it would cost about $400
if they couldn't prove the starter wasn't the culprit and also the fact that
the tech warned my Dad that in his experience, once you tear an interior
apart like that there will always be some rattles when I is put back
together. He is 67 and rarely has rear passengers so he just asked them to
close the window permanently and give him the car back. Now he is having
the same problem with the front passenger window, neither control will
operate the window. Any history of this in the TSX?

The other question you may want to ask is whether mysterious
electrical problems ever occur after the installation of an
aftermarket remote starter.

Perhaps you already know the answer to that one.

Bet they use that excuse for anything else that goes wrong -- especially if
it is electrical -- like a battery or perhaps even the transmission since it
has electronic controls. The problem is that whenever you make any mod not
installed by the dealer that it factory authorized, your warranty may be in
jeopardy. He could write Honda -- Acura.

I have a 2004 TL that is out of warranty and had a problem with my passenger
window regulator. I asked my local Acura dealership to repair it during a
recent visit.

The service manager replaced it and called it a 'goodwill' repair so there
was no charge. The cost would have been $220, so I was very pleased at the
warranty repair as I had fully expected to be charged.

I have always been treated well at Gold Coast Acura in Ventura, CA. They
always provide a complimentary Acura and I've never had any issues with
their repairs.

Regarding the window regulator, I was told there are some issues with them
and it is not unusual to replace the regulator.
