Just ordered a K&N air filter for my 01 GSR. Anyone have any experience
with the filter. Performance gains or gas mileage?

Tried one on a Prelude and there was no discernable difference except the
the engine developed a stumble on start-off. Went back to the stock filter
and problem went away. Waste of money IMO.

The only advantage is the fact that it is washable and reusable, and thus is
cheaper in the long run.

I read tests done by Honda Tuning Magazine that said the K&N filter alone
had little performance improvement compared to short rams or the MUCH
better cold air induction systems. They did flow tests and dyno tests on a
number of short rams,CAIs and the K&N filter. (using the newer RSX-S)
HTM has a website, they may still have the article on there.
I have a CAI on my 94 GSR,and it REALLY made a difference in performance.
(Although it really increased the intake noise, too.)
The Integra air intake system is very restrictive.

The oil from the K&N filter can contaminate the hot wire in the mass air
flow sensor as well as get on the back of the valves. "Wise men stick to
OEM".
