I have had 2 suds one a super nice in Spain with no rust but those dam
sticky brakes remember them, I had another one back in the UK which I
rebuild well half rebuilt and took it out and drove it into the back of a
BMW I scratched a bumper on the Beemer and my beloved sud 1.3 disintegrated
into a heap.

Now on a 75 V6 3.0 with a breathed on engine and loads of power.  Just love
the car best I ever had and so reliable GOINT TO TRY IT UP THE STRIP AT
SANTA POD BEFORE CHANGING TIRES ON THE BACK.

33 1.7 16v - cracking car, very reliable, didn't rust badly, went like
stink and went round bends like it was on rails. Miss it lots since the
day it suddenly died without reason.

33 1.7 8v - my choice (out of the 16v and 8v) for covering distance with
minimal fuss. Very comfortable, didn't handle _quite_ as well as the
16v, but was softer and more relaxing. The 8v lump pulled _very_ well
from low engine speeds, so it was a joy to drive when you didn't want a
thrashing, IYSWIM.

75 TS - lovely engine, sloppy gearchange, interesting handling when
pressing on. Love it to bits.

155 2.0TS Lusso - Superb build quality, looks a million dollars in
metallic silver, handles 'differently' to the 75, probably has lower
ultimate limits, but it's a very enjoyable drive.

3 Suds including a 1.5 GCL - the last of which, a 1.5SC, I've owned since
1989 (yes, into my 15th year - is this a record for Sud ownership?), one 33
(1.7 16V), two 164s  (2.0TS & 3.0 24V) and a 156 (2.0 TS). Total Alfa
ownership years: 25

I've had many other makes: Renault, Rover, Fiat, Ford, BMW and Peugeot, but
as we all know, once you've had an Alfa, you always miss the responsiveness
that they build into the engine, chassis, steering, etc, when you drive a
more ordinary car.

A friend of a friend introducted me to Alfas. He rebuilds old ones,
usually has three at any one time; one that he drives, one that he's
currently rebuilding and the next project.

The first 'normal' car that I bought was a Sud 1.5 SC. It was in a
terrible state when I bought it. Spent much time and effort getting
the engine right, the brakes right etc. Drove it for a while but
eventually it succumbed to rust. When I took for it's last MOT they
wanted to see who has been brave/foolish enough to drive it in.

A succession of company cars followed (would never let me have an
Alfa, though I always asked) till I bought a new 146 in '97. Ran that
for 6 years before swapping it for the '02 156 Selespeed last summer.

Spent an age looking at other cars before getting the Selespeed, after
test driving all sorts of lumps there was no choice really.

All my Alfas have been red, I'm not convinced that any other colour
looks quite right.

I had an Alfa Romeo (75)Milano (2.5 Gold edition 1987)

I really want a Milano 3.0 (Verde)........ bad!!!

I also own three Fiat X1/9s (1 race car, 2 street cars)

Sadly, Alfa isn't available in Canada anymore :(  (a 156 GTA would do me fine, or a 147)

Its amassing how many of us keep on buying Alfas
There is a lot of people started on the old Alfas and moved on to the modern
ones.  Personally I still like the rear wheel drive Alfas.  The only cheap
Itilan car to tempt me out of my 75 would be a Delta Intergralie or maby a
911, of modern cars I think The masda MX8 seems like a drivers car.

Only one, but The One :)

Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2.0 turbodiesel, silver metallic paint, made in 1983.

It was burned and therefore destroyed.

Hope to get another one soon.
