Afternoon all!

Hurtling towards insurance renewal time for my GTV TS and wondering if
anyone has any recommendations for insurers/brokers who aren't too happy to
rip you off on a group 17 car ;-)

Current insurer won't say how much to renew yet, only that it'll "... be
into 4 figures..." which was not the news I wanted to hear.

Best deal I've found online so far is just shy on ?900 - hoping to take that
down considerably.

Thanks in advance,

John

Should have also said that I've had quite good quotes from Direct
Line. They use their own 1-100 grading and not the more common 1-20
grouping so you can strike lucky..sometimes.

experience of quotes from them <ROF>

try Chris Knott.
do a web search for chriss knott insurance.
as about special rates for AROC members - you will need to join Alfa romeo
owners club but if you're anything like me will
still save money..

Same here

And it's even better if you own two Alfas, cos you still only need one
membership :)

Thanks to all who replied.

Will check out Chris Knott and AROC membership... looks like I may have
averted having to trade down to something lesser than an Alfa! ;-)

If you are over 25, try liverpool victoria.

They go me the best deal on a Saab Turbo as a 35 year old with only 3
years driving experience. They were the best quote by at least a 1/3rd.

And they are very modification friendly if you want to tune later.
Anything except a capacity increase, or engine swap is either free to
note on the insurance, or minimal admin fee, even things like engine
remaps and hybrid turbos on forced induction cars, or adding turbos or
superchargers to NA cars.

I changed my insurance from tesco which was £1250 to AXA which brought
it right down to £620 it was high as i was only 24 at the time but
still quite a saving. Give them a try.

Always read the policy to see what you're getting for best quote. Most
online sites have a link to it buried somewhere. Last time I renewed
Esure was quoting cheapest but their policy was shy of stuff like
windscreen cover, foreign travel, 3rd party in other cars. 50 quid
more for Elephant got all of those.

Try www.confused.com for a search across several insurers. Gave quite
a bit of repetition for me but it's a quick way to see a range.

Just switch from Norwich Union to esure. Nearly half price of other quotes

Agree with esure if you're clear of previous.

Admiral were £150 cheaper than anyone else for me. You can also use
www.moneysupermarket.com to get an idea of who would be cheapest. Try
again 1st July as occasionally the underwriters make a boob and
haven't tested the product properly with new rates.
