Mouldy 156 Interior - Help!

Just been to look at the second hand December 2002 156 JTS that I've bought
"blind" from a local car supermarket.
All looks good, except that there are spots of mould on the rear interior
quarter panel, the rear parcel shelf and a few odd spots on the upper part
of the seat back and the roof headlining.

I can't think what could have caused it, given that I can't find any damp
areas anywhere. It all seems to centre around the rear offside corner.

Has anyone any similar experience they can share with me? It won't be a
problem to clean the fabric, but I'm a bit worried about what the underlying
cause may be.....

Thanks,
Graham.

Hi Graham,
Check the rear floor carpets, they may feel dry, but if you lift the
carpet you might find water has got into the underfelt through joints
in the floor panels and has been lying there for a while. This was a
fault found earlier in the 156/147. If you contact Bjarne Flyvholm at
bjarne@flyvholm.dk I think he may be able to advise you of the
details. John, UK.

I hope that he doesn't mind you posting his email address
in the clear on Usenet for the entire world to spam ;-)
