OK, I bought my 156 2.0JTS about 18 months ago now. I recently subscribed to
this newsgroup and I noticed a few people's signatures mention mods they
obviously have applied to their cars. I don't anything about mods, but once
the car is out of the Alfa waranty, it is something I would like to
investigate:

1. What are mods - are they engine chip upgrades or turbos etc?
2. Where where can I get one on a budget.
3. Self install/fit or a garage job?
4. What sort of power improvement would I see + I presume there a
consumption trade-off?

Thanks
GT.

Look at www.autodelta.co.uk for a start. Modding can range from fairly
simple to extremely complex depending on what you want to do. Check out the
forums at www.alfaowner.com as well, as quite a lot of people on there have
done a lot of mods from uprated brakes and suspension to turbos and
superchargers.
