I've already posted on the GTVV6 forum and am not having much luck..
probably because most people were smart enough to buy their Alfa with the
burgandy master key.
Basically the orange code light on the dashboard refuses to switch off,
rendering the car immobilised. I have tried repositioning the code-key
aerial, disconnecting the battery for several hours etc.. and no joy.
Strangely, even the over-ride method (depressing the gas pedal) doesn't work
anymore either.
My last hope is a good auto-electrician who might be able to bypass the
system. Can anyone recommend someone in the London (or South East of
England)??
The only other alternative is a costly replacment of the ECU, locks etc..
Car is 1996 Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 TS

Are you sure it's not a faulty ECU? - I assume you only have one key to
work with?

Can't be done. The immobiliser is contained within the ECU and can't be
bypassed.

That's likely to be the only solution.

Richard i
also don't have a master key can you help me
I have a similar problem and I am getting a friend who is Italian to speak
to the factory. I was never given the code key when I bought the car. A
key snapped in the ignition and that was just the start of my troubles.
I shall post the factory's answer.
