Driving along the other day in my 1990 75 2.0TS and noticed the oil
pressure gauge was barely hovering above the 0 mark. Temperature fine,
plenty of oil, no smells or smoke. Trip completed uneventfully. Gauge
problem? It moves very slightly when I rev the engine, so it's not
completely dead.

Thanks!

Only slightly?  It *should* IME go up significantly when you press the loud
pedal. Up to 3 bar at least (assuming you're calibrated in bars)
If not, I fear there is a problem somewhere, either the pump or maybe the
pick up.

Remove the wire from the sender unit and short to earth/ chassis. The gauge
should indicate maximum pressure. If this is the case the sender unit may be
faulty. If the oil pressure warning light also comes on at idling and the
engine temperature is normal or hot. then you may have a serious oil
pressure problem.
