Well, the 156 V6 has to go!

I'm back doing relatively high mileages at the mo... this means I will have
to go into a company car!... and at that, a diesel!!!!.... The good news is
it will be an Alfa GT 1.9 JTD :-))

I get it on Friday, all being well! Metallic Black 18" alloys and
leather..... I will miss the V6 though.....another Alfa to the list!

That's a long wait although the 156 was longer!  We ordered a GT on May 17th
and got it the first week of August.

Don't think you'll miss the V6 TOO much. I've had my GT JTD for about 6
weeks now and it's a blast!
I couldn't afford the 18" alloys and leather though (is there an internet
smiley for a green eyed monster?)- budget meant 17" spokes and black
Alfatex - very happy with it though - hope you will be too. Drop us a line
again at the group when you've had it a few weeks and let us know what you
think.

Regards - Grahame.

Hi Grahame and Gert-Jan

Oh bugger, would you believe it!!

Had a fax from Dixons (Leeds) (no idea what they're like...lease company
dealing with them!) saying that my car had a paint defect from the factory,
discovered at PDI!! It will now be 25 Nov before I get it! I guess I'll have
to check it carefully when I get it... It's a PCP lease, so there is a
possibility I will buy it at the end of the lease.

I actually wanted a basic spec GT.. but there is a 16 week+ waiting list for
them... So my lease company negotiated a deal with Dixons who already had a
Black metallic 18" alloys and leather ex stock.... It's a bit more, but I'm
sure I will like it as my 156 has momo leather.....

Oh well only another week!....

Is that a coincidence.................
Just 2 weeks befor the scheduled delivery of my GT early October, I got a
call from my dealer that they (the factory) had quality problems with the
colour!!!!!
The "old" Rosso Siena (a dark red metallic) was taken out of the specs and
therefor my car would have to be completely newly planned, resulting in
production end November/early December.
With transport from Italy to Holland and the dealer options to be fitted it
would soon be January befor I would get it.
New colour would be Rosso Radicofani (only Italians can come up with such a
name), more or less identical, yet officially "different"; as I had never
seen the Rosso Siena "live", I had to make up my mind then and now based on
a 2x8cm colour sample which I did.
So a GT Distinctive with Rosso Radicofani on the outside with natural
leather interior, black dash, Bose sound system, 18" wheels, electric &
heated seats, headlight washers, automatic screen whipers, park aid etc etc.
Can't wait.

Hmmm, Alfa really do seem to have their supply problems.

My first Alfa GT ordered was supposed to be silver with Lt Grey / Black
interior. The dealer had three attempts to spec the correct car. Each one
came wrong - wrong wheels, exterior colour, interior spec. The dealer blamed
Alfa, Alf blamed the dealer the whole charade went on for months.

In the end I demanded my deposit back and went to a different franchise.
They managed to get me a GT in Stromboli Grey with Black Alfatex interior
and 17" spokes within a couple of weeks. When I saw it I loved it and bought
it there and then!

Hope the GT they source for you next time is OK - like you say, check it
carefully (mine has a fault - like a ripple - in the rear windscreen which
distorts the rear view. Don't know if this is a common fault, but I'm going
to try and get the glass replaced under warranty when it goes in for its 1st
service.)

Well fingers crossed here.... Next Thursday is the delivery day now... Got a
trip up to Scotland next weekend so it would be nice to put  the GT through
its paces on that trip!
I'll check the rear window when I get mine and let you know if it is a
feature or a fault!lol!

Hi David,

The Selespeed had a temporary lack of attention by the nut holding the
steering wheel!
Actually some nice farmer had "accidentally" spilt some red diesel on a nice
damp bend!! I lost control, spun, and went off the road backwards over the
remains of a dry stone wall at about 20mph. Although the body suffered
little damage, most of the suspension and the engine sump were destroyed.
