Ok, so not having seen one of these from new, can anyone tell me if it's
supposed to slope forward slightly when it's down or if it's meant to be
completely horizontal. Mine slopes, thats why I'm wondering, cos somehow it
doesn't feel right.

Mine too, depends how upright you have the seat I think. It's only level if
I adopt a very laid back driving position.

I would think it would be the same as the 147 in which it has a ratchet
and you can position it in any position.
The ratchet comes in handy when you get old and cannot get the right
position.

Fair enough, it is always nice and stiff and stands in
any position, but this is without mechanical assistance :-)
