Just had front and rear pads renewed on 1999 Alfa 156, also new discs on
front. Since then, the brake pad warning light comes on and goes out again
as normal when I switch on the ignition, but after a few miles the warning
light comes on permanently. The garage has checked the sensors and can find
no problem. Ideas?

Haven't tried this, but... disconnect the wire from the pad to the car
(there's probably only one, on the driver side, and make sure it's not going
to foul anything). Drive it. See if the light is still on. If it's not,
clean the connectors as best you can and try again.
