Help my 166 sat nav has finally failed.
Alfa wish to sell me one for 1300 pounds!
Can I get it refurbished/exchanged - if so where?
Why so expensive for a CD player/printed circuit board.
The unit was made by Siemens - anyonr have a contact number I can try at
Siemens?
Why are the dealerships so poor at diagnostics? I cannot find any that begin
to understand how these beautiful cars ar put together!!
Does the sat nav also link to the phone and clock - both these are
inoperable with the sat nav failed - there appears to be an aerial
connection into the box.
I have tried all know breakers for a box - anyone breaking an alfa and wants
to sell me the sat nav box?

I put a second hand unit in from a german LHD car, that I got from a
breakers. It works then goes off track after about 20 minutes.
The clock and the phone are not connected to the Sat Nav box. Clock is ran
off the Becker Radio Cassette (RDS).
I believe you can get exchange units from the Alfa Dealers in the UK for
about 650 GBPounds.
I've got a silver Front Dash unit spare, as the main unit is £2500, making
the sat nav box look very cheap at 1300 GBPounds.

Phone and Clock are not dependant upon the Sat Nav Box.
Clock works off Becker Radio cassette (RDS).
Refurbished ones are supposedly available from Alfa UK, but I haven't got
one yet, as my Sat Nav goes off course after about 20 minutes or so - keep
wondering if my aerial is kaputt!
I've got a silver main front unit spare, as the replacement ones cost
£2500!
