Hi.
I'm the happy owner of a 156 SW from 12/2000.
This other day I had turned on the car and was waiting for my
girlfriend to get in. She's normally driving the car, so she has her
own key of course. By habit she presses the unlock button on her
remote, while my key is in the ignition and the central lockingsystem
goes bananas: It keeps locking and unlocking the doors at a seconds
interval, until I manage to open the door and it stops.
From then on the system is screwed. The remote can't unlock or lock
the car, though it can still open the trunk...
Now the car won't lock all the doors either, if I try and lock it
manually. But if I lock every single door manually and then try and
unlock the door, the system goes bananas again, unlocking and locking
all the doors, until a door is opened.
Does anyone know an easy solution to this problem, except from
removing the fuse and unlocking all doors manually (and living without
being ale to open the windows, since they run on the same fuse...)?
I hope so...

This is a known fault at the "service news" it happens to my 156 SW
selespeed once. if you disconnect the car battery for a while it will work
ok again. The "service news" explains that you must avoid to press any
button at the remote while the key is inserted. I don't know if they had
fixed the problem after this service news.
