Hi

Just joined the club and brought my first alfa. Very impressed already,
only had it since saturday. I would like to know how to keep it running
the fine way it is now. It has 90,000 miles on the clock and had its
cambelt changed at 55,000. Ive read there may be upcoming problems with
the selespeed unit. Is it worth putting it through a full service? Ive
had lease cars before this one and realise they do very little at
service time and seems a waste of money! Is there a say checklist
anyone would recommend to make sure everything is as it should be??
Any advice would be much appriciated!
Thanks
And I love Alfa!!

IMO, at that mileage, perhaps....

Any dealer or independent should have a complete list.  There is normally
one in the back of the handbook.

Any way, the best advice is to find a good, local independent serve chap
(unless you want to stick with main dealers)  Where are you?

You'll find that a lot round here ;)

Well, my local chap is not too useful then.  Someone should be along in a
bit with a recommendation, though.

Someone ought to mention about the oil light - if it comes on with
engine running - it's too late, you'll need a new engine.

Frequent oil checks recommended (every 300 miles by the book).

(Am I being too paranoid?)

Couple of things

1) Leaving in the text to which you are replying (like I have) makes it much
easier to read what's going on.  Not a dig, just an observation
2)  I'd post aonther thread asking specifically for independants in
Nottingham.  People tend to drift in and out of here since traffic is not
so high.  They may ignore a thread with this title, but reply to a
specialist request IYSWIM.  Also, it may take a couple of days for someone
with relevant knowledge to drop in

Good luck.
