Hi,

Does anyone have some input on where / what I should by (when the BOSE
HIFI sound system wasn't available) ?

I'm looking at JBL and Pioneer, but is the any in perticular I should
consider ?

Mainly speakers but if that isn't enough, perhaps subwoofer and
amplifier.

I'm also looking at the following Pioneer stereos
DEH-P70BT
DEH-P9600MP
DEH-P8600MP
DEH-P7600MP

Any input on which one to buy

TIA

MJ

Regarding the speakers, should I look at the INFINITY branch instead ?

Regaring the Stereo, do I need some kind of a frame to make the stereo
fit nicely into the dashboard (and where can I buy one, if not at the
local Alfa dealer) ?

There is no such thing as "THE" best.
All depens on the kind of music you favor.
Now that you have the oportunity, go and listen to as many amplifier /
speaker combinations as you can using your favorit music CD
Almost all speaker brands will have speakers that fit the 156.

Yes.
I got mone from bluespot.co.uk and sent it straight back 'cos it was a piece
of badly sprayed black plastic, complete
with blebs and spots of missing paint.
Can't say if the alfa OEM part is any better.
I got a Blaupunkt stereo, and to be honest, as it has a silver surround it
doesn't look that bad without the frame.....

Ummm, there's always plenty of discussion on the group about upgrading music
systems in your car.....but why?

What with wind noise, road noise, etc, what is the point of an expensive
sound system that you can't appreciate?

Perhaps it's just me, but the standard system seems fine!

My biggest regrets is that the standard stereo doesn't play MP3s. That
means that I have to bring 15 cds for each mp3 cd

I've Just put in a sony X-plode system in mine, head unit is a CDX-F7750S.
With an up grade on all door speakers as well as an amp and Two twelve inc
subs in the boot. Got it all from Motor-world. i also had to buy a facia
adapter which they ordered for me cost £12.99 and went in ok. If your looking
to improve your music system ALLWAYS invest in the best Head unit you can
afford, it will count for mor than anything else you put in to your car.
Pioneer are ok but do not offer much in the way of quality amps and their
head units are more of a budget choice.
