Hi all my 145 cloverleaf failed it's mot on emissions ! bugger . Does any one know if a bad air mass sensor could be the problem ?? Certainly could, but as SteveH says, more likley the lambda, unless you've noticed a huge drop in power and flat spots everywhere.... Which is nice cos a lambda probe is *much* cheaper. The technician at the MOT garage suggested a thrash up the A3. 15 minutes later the car passed after some fast motoring and a return to the garage with the system really hot. Am trying the same solution recommended to you, except here that part is called an oxygen sensor. It runs about $170. Plus a tune up and a few other items like the oil vapor separator (aka - oil canister).
