I seem to vaguely remember reading somewhere that the 156 2.0 went from
155bhp down to 150bhp around 2000 due to emission controls.
Can anyone tell me if this is true and if so from which engine / chassis
number range or how you identify which one you have?
Thanks..Dave

Depends on for which market the car was initially made!
And, the electronics have a detonation sensor regulating the power which in
fact is dependent on the quality and RON number of the fuel used.
On the other hand: whos cares?
The spread in power output of the (every) engine is + or -5% so with a 150HP
niminal engine you can end up having as little as 142.5 or as much as
157.5HP!!

euro2 > euro3 : happened around Sept 2000, easiest way to spot the
version there is small cats at the top of the exhaust manifold with
their extra lambda sensors.
