Just wondering if I should save myself £80.00 and replace my front bake pads
myself on my 166.
Is it as straightforward as I think it should be ? Is  it easy to do the
Rear pads as well ?

It is a straight forward job.
Don't forget to renew your brake fluid regularly (I never like that job; the
experts have easy to use equipment that DIY-ers don't have)
