I admit to having missed the start of the thread. FWIW
I have the similar road conditions here in rural Lincs.
Can you not use the aluminium undertray, or am I missing the point?
I don't have the lowered suspension but I have never had a tray break.
It has bottomed out a few times :-) but not broken.
Were you thinking of buying a 156 with the sports pack Jane?
If not I would not let this worry you about you choice.

Yes I was thinking of the V6 24valve as a good friend has one and
allowed me to drive it over the period of 2 weeks. Now I don't want to
go back to my Peugeot 306!! They don't drive in quite the same way, do they?

I have a V6 156 Veloce. Apart from one unmade road where I have to go
very slowly I don't have any issues with grounding.
Cheers

Just think how much you can save on not
bothering with stereo equip and discs.
The engine will give you the best music going :-)

Nice one Pete! Particularly pertinent presently as I have no
stereo/radio on Peugeot 306 due to garage disconnecting battery.....

I'm led to believe that the GTA's tray is a bit lower than other 156s; and
yes I can fit the aluminium one (and will); and I had a 2.0 GTV before this
and two of those ended up broken as well. And no I don't drive like a total
nutter! The other problem are those speed humps that don't gp all the way
across the road. If there's no traffic and I can get 1 wheel on the hump,
then fine; otherwise they also do a bit of damage unless I almost stop. (If
you live in Herefordshire, I mean the ones on the road near the station!)
Apart from that (and ignoring cambelts and dealers)- go for it!

Yes Steve, I know exactly where you mean with the speed humps (work just
up the road from there)
I have also been alerted to the cambelts but haven't come across the AR
dealers yet. Will look forward to it! Did come across a particularly
unpleasant car salesman in Bristol yesterday though, with view to buying
a 156.....needless to say, I didn't!
Thanks for the advice
Jane
