(Bless her for getting me involved in the Alfa scene) phoned me today:

'Do you know what Jeremy Paxman said?'
'No' says I
'Your not a proper petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo'

I think she's getting on a bit :)

A friend of mine reported that his mother told him, she's 87, IIRC,
"My memory's as good as ever, I just don't get same day service like I
used to."

Guess what?
My mother (76) and father (81) ordered their 21st (!!) new Alfa today (first
one was a 1958 Guillietta Sprint 1300).
A full options 159 1.9JTS in an "old blue" colour.
Delivery? April/May 2006 "or earlier"??!!
They drive 7000km a year so when they trade it in 3 years time (they used to
buy a new one every 2 years!!) someone is going to get a bargain.
Do I hear a second hand car sales man selling a car with low mileage from a
pensioner?
I believe him .............................

Please pass on my congratulations.
I believe the mileage. My car does apx: 4000 miles per year.
Just because I don't travel far is not a reason for travelling in a mobile
skip when I can have an Alfa. Plus the look of  the car actually makes me
want to get in the car and go for a ride. Can't see that happening if I got
a Vauxhall <LOL> or a Daewoo Matiz :-(
