Please help anyone,

I have Alfa Romeo 155 twins park 1.8 and I have a big problem.
When I start the engine and go for a drive, while the engine is cold
the
car is suffocating (if I could say so) I mean that the car is leaping
and when
I stop number of revolution light down and the car is turning off. When
the
engine warms up he works normaly there are no effect like I said
before.
I went to the service and they where cleaning some pipes (don't know
how to call them) where the gasoline is passing trought. Thus anyone
have any idea what is happening please every help is welcome.

   Thanks in advanced

I'd say it's the temperature sensor that's damaged or has a broken
connection.
