Am I right in thinking that you need to do these every 36k miles?

I'm looking at a 164 24v at the moment, but it's done 104k miles, with
the last change at 60k miles.

Should I be budgeting for a change ASAP?

If so, it's not worth it..... 'cos I've seen one for 300 quid more
that's just had the belts done.

Original spec for most Alfas was 6 years 72K miles however many cars failed
to last that long.  I got away with 50K 6 years on a 2.0 TS  Spider but for
safety changing at half the original mileage is considered better.  How long
do you want to keep it ?  If you intend to keep for any length of time and
trust the belt change done on the other car I would buy it :)
