Bought my 1999 alfa 156 1.8TS a few months ago and it came with hardly any
service history, It's now coming up to 72,000 miles and after reading some of
the horror stories on here i think it will be a good idea to get a full
service and also have the belts changed at the same time. I know this is a
costly experience at the main dealers so i would be very greatful if anyone
could point me in the direction of a good trust worthy garage who could do
this for me without taking my life savings, I live near Cearphilly and work
in Cardiff so antwhere in south wales should be fine, oh and any idea of the
likely cost.
Thanks
Simonj.

Ahhh, a local!

I have a local guy in Llanbradach who works on all my cars - he got my
75 through an MOT last year and my 155 the year before. When I had my
'Panzerwagen' phase, he did a cambelt on my Passat..... which is quite a
tricky job. He'll be doing all the work on our 156 and my Marea, too.

He's called Peter Holcombe and is in the Yellow Pages.

Labour is only £25/hour + VAT, so it's not going to be too painful.

Nice one Steve - my mate lives near Newport and I'm looking for someone to
take care of the 147 when the warranty runs out!

Good to know there are local alfa males out there. ( I don't mean that in a
gay way!)

Pop over to forum.welshalfa.co.uk.

Not much going on over there at the moment, but it usually livens up
during 'show season'. We're planning on organising at least a couple of
runs out over the summer.
