Had a low frequency knocking noise at 20/30mph so expected the usual
bushes/arm diagnosis from the dealer - turns out it was the pattern of wear
on the rear tyres. New rears sorted the annoying problem! (2mm tread left so
needed them anyway)

I get the same between 80 and 100 mph. Its not the bearings, so maybe its
the same issue...

They were actually Michelins - service manager said he'd seen the problem on

So what caused that then? Slammin the anchors on and squaring off the tyre?

Nope - it's hard to explain but all the tread blocks had a triangular
profile rather than wearing evenly, and I guess the noise was a resonance
effect.
