wanneer komt er eindelijk eens een echte opvolger voor de 33?

Well ... maybe you could tell us what characteristics you think this
33-successor would have to share with the 33 for it to be counted as
genuine?

Eerst komt er een nieuwe Alfasud, de opvolger daarvan zal de nieuwe 33 zijn.

English please ... this is NOT an NL newsgroup, as I was wondering this
afternoon when you mentioned it.

Well, I think he is a confused BMW driver, a bit lost in cyberspace,
accidentally entered the wrong newsgroup and desperately looking for some
professional help.

Please help the poor man.

You are right BravoEchoRomeoRomeoYankee,
just foulling around,

and checking if this is a 'real' newgroup:

can someone help you, with your "lightning" problem,
like I told you about the fuses some years ago,
there must be drivers with same "lightning" problems....... ;-)

Heretic!

The 33, especially in 16v form, was a legend. The 147 is some horrible
caricature of what a small Alfa should look like.

Ouch! But I've never ever claimed to be an Alfisti! Nevertheless, my
poor use of language was meant to imply that for Alfa these days, it's
as close as it gets!

I've tried the 1.6 and 2.0 147s and didn't come away feeling anything
special had happened.

Unfortunately, close isn't anywhere near good enough.

The 147, IMHO, is just some slightly strangely styled women's shopping
cart.

I'd expect the 1.6 to be crap, but the 2lt should feel OK. I'm not
convinced by the whole package, though. The styling is lacking, both
outside and inside, plus a 156 isn't that much more expensive.

I do wonder if anything will come of the proposals for a Grande Punto
based 'baby' Alfa. One of those with the new 2.2JTS lump would appear to
have potential.

Well there *is* only room for a *small* makeup bag in the boot!

I tend to agree. Plus I can get my kid's pram into a 156 boot but not
into the 147 hatch (a packaging nightmare, Alfa!).

Interesting. The Grande Punto seems to be going down a storm in the UK
(at least).

I haven't seen one in the flesh yet, but I'm intrigued. A hot one would
definitely tempt me... wonder if the 2.4 5-pot lump will fit?

If they can get the 2.2 in, I'd think so. Would it be too heavy for
that size of car though - unbalance the handling? They might fit the
1.9 though.

What about smaller capacity petrol with a turbo to keep the weight
down for handling and va va voom..?

Well.... the old Punto Turbo was a right laugh. I never did have the
bottle to buy one, though, all that power from such a small engine
seemed like it was a grenade about to blow...... but yeah, the Fiat 1.8
lump from the old Punto HGT with a blower would make a cracking small
Alfa.

I'd rather see the 2.4 shoehorned in it... not likely to see 'em in
ANY form "over here" tho.

I didn't think you were a diesel fan - the 2.4 is a 5 cylinder oil
burner. Are you thinking of the old 2.5 V6 petrol?

Meantime, Cadillacs, Chryslers and Chevrolets are appearing over here.
Having said that, the 300C is a LOT of car for the money!

Possibly the wonderful Fiat 2.4 5-pot petrol from the Stilo HGT?

Just like the one in my Marea, but with an extra 25 or so bhp. Lovely.

(now, there's an idea)
