Was half-way through changing the radiator and thermostat(coolant fluid
thermostat body), and noticed that as I disconnected the radiator fan
from the electrics there were two cables connected to another plug on
the fan that wasnt the fan power.

Being intrigued I unscrewed the thing and found what looks like a
thermostat/rheostat? Is this a local control/override for the radiator
temperature? Anbody know what it does?

More importantly does anyone know if you can replace it as its
definitely burnt out?

Thanks

Did, or should your fan run after the engine is stopped and car
parked?

If so this will be an override to ensure engine cools somewhat when
parked.

There are two resistors, if those are broken fans are running in wrongs
temps. You can buy those as spare parts.
